Thank you for all the happy birthday wishes and goodies! Defiance is pretty cool. It's a huge area though! Oh, and I'm sending some cool pictures of what a junior companion's desk looks like versus a senior companion's desk! We will probably be riding our bikes a lot more now that it's starting to get warmer! I'm starting to get an idea how everything works in my area and where everything is. We do more than oreo parties; we have deep doctrine discussions at night sometimes, and at district meetings, at lunch and stuff. Everyone in the district usually wants to know my opinion on things, its pretty cool! Yes, my last companion and Elder Toth stayed where they were and Elder Lythgoe is in Wauseon! Which is funny; he told me this week that I might as well be district leader because I talk to the zone leaders more than he does! Haha, I can't help that they like me more! :) haha jk.
The nearest Elders are in Waeson and we see them about every Tuesday and sometimes on Mondays! And yes, we kinda have a few people to teach but we have mostly been going around trying to get to know people more! Actually, want to know a really cool story? We went to go contact this referral and it was a 15 year old girl, so we needed to talk to the parents. We called them and basically she said that they were having a really hard time and wanted to meet with us and see if we could help and wanted to know if we could come over in 30 mins. Of course, we did, and it turned out to be a way sweet family that we had been looking for. They have 4 kids and all a perfect age for the branch! We taught them and they just loved us and the 11 year old boy wants to take us camping and on scout camps and hang out with us and such and they are just an awesome family! We set up an appointment on Friday to go back. On Friday they weren't home, so then on Saturday we called them and they were like "oh, we looked up directions to your church and we are going to be there on Sunday!" But they had to go to Indiana that night so we think they might have stayed there because they weren't at church on Sunday. Well only about 11 peopole were there when it started, so it wasn't that bad that they didn't come! We are going to call them today and meet with them and get them to come to General Conference because they will love that! That is our awesome story of the Lord helping us out! What is cool is that there hasn't been anything happening in this area for years so this was a huge step! We were pretty excited about that!
Another funny story is that our toilet got clogged!! It wasn't pretty and we spent a total of about 3 hours trying to fix it. On Tuesday when we got back from District meeting we went and got some toilet fixing things from Walmart! After an hour of all our hard work and plunging we were like we give up! We plunged it two more times and flushed it and as it was flushing I was like "be tho clean!!" And my companion was like "get out ye demonic waters!!" and well.. haha it worked and our toilet works really good now! That's just a little humor that the Lord has for us that made us really laugh!
I'm really excited for Conference! It should be really good with a lot of new instructions that the Lord wants us to start doing! Oh and something cool is that Thursday is the day that Christ suffered for all of our sins in the Garden so that would be something cool to think about on that day and maybe read Alma 7:11-14 or D&C 18 or 19 whatever one talks about the Atonement! The church is so cool and if you really look at it there is no possible way that it could be made up. It's true and so is Pres. Monson. It is going to be really sweet to be able to hear from him this weekend! Well, hope everything is going well and hope you guys have a great week! Love you guys!
